Best 14-inch Bandsaws
1. JET JWBS-14DXPRO
More detailed review ↴
When it comes to 14-inch bandsaws, we couldn’t miss the JET JWBS-14DXPRO. What makes this bandsaw special is its construction and durability.
It comes with a cast-iron frame that eliminates the need for using a riser block when dealing with tough resawing projects. The cast-iron frame gives the machine durability, and the upper and lower ball bearing guides help the machine to reduce friction which translates to longer blade life.
Moreover, the poly-v belt system that helps the machine to make more accurate cuts plus gives you more control while changing the speed. Speaking of speed, the JET JWBS-14DXPRO comes with two-speed choices — 1500/3000 SFPM. It’s the second-fastest bandsaw on our list.
What I like most about this bandsaw is the easy-to-view blade feature — this allows you to see the blade position at any time.
On the downside, the manual isn’t the most helpful thing you will read. It needs some improvements.
What We Liked:
- Cast Iron Frame – Gives the machine durability.
- Ball Guides – Reduce friction.
- Fast – Two-speed choices -1500/3000 SFPM.
- Safety Features – Comes with the easy-to-view blade feature.
What We Didn’t Like:
- Manual poorly written.
2. WEN 3966
More detailed review ↴
If you are looking for a cheaper 14-inch bandsaw that gives you great results then you should check the WEN 3966.
This 14″ bandsaw comes with a 9.5 Amp motor that has enough power to deal with most materials. It comes with two speeds — 1480/3280 RPM. The two-speed settings make the machine more versatile and allows you to work with different materials. It’s actually the fastest bandsaw on our list, beating our first pick for a few RPM.
I mostly use this WEN bandsaw to make angeled cuts– you can make 0-45-degrees bevel cuts thanks to its heavy-duty adjustable worktable. Except for angled cuts, you can also use this for straight cuts, you just have to put the wood against the reversible fence.
Except for that, it comes with a 3-in-1 dust port where you can attach three different sized vacuum hoses to keep the space clean.
On the downside, we feel that it takes a lot of effort to change the speed. Other models have made the process smooth and fast, while the WEN still hasn’t updated when it comes to this.
What We Liked:
- Cheaper – Doesn’t cost a lot of money and still offers great performance.
- Motor – Features a 9.5 Amp motor.
- Angled Cuts – You can adjust the worktable to make 45-degree cuts.
- Straight Cuts – Thanks to the reversible fence you can make straight cuts.
- 3-in-1 Dust Ports
What We Didn’t Like:
- Speed Changing: Changing the speed takes a lot of time.
3. RIKON 10-326
More detailed review ↴
When it comes to bandsaws, RIKON is a known brand. I have been using different products over the years and have never been disappointed. That’s why the next 14″ bandsaw on our list is the RIKON 10-326.
What makes this bandsaw special is the rip fence — you can easily adjust the rip fence by turning a few knobs, you don’t need any extra tools to do that. Seconds, the rip fence is taller than the usual height, which gives you the ability to resaw larger woods such as lumbers.
When it comes to the performance, this RIKON 14-inch bandsaw comes with a 1-3/4 HP motor that delivers two different blade speeds — 1445 FPM or 2950 FPM.
On the downside, we feel that the installation takes a while, sometimes it takes up to 2 people to fully install this bandsaw.
What We Liked:
- Rip Fences – Easily adjusted and taller than usual.
- Power – It Comes with a 1-3/4 HP Motor.
- Speed – Offers two speeds: 1445/2950 FPM.
What We Didn’t Like
- Installation Process: It might take two people to fully install this bandsaw.

Its construction gives the machine more durability and longer life. To make things better, it comes with computer-balanced iron wheels that help the tool to make accurate cuts. Plus, the wheels allow you to easily maneuver the tool and reduces vibrations.
It comes with a quick blade tension release, heavy-gauge steel stand, and T-shape fence design that will help you get a clean cut. Overall a great machine, I would recommend it for any type of project, whenever that is small or big.
On the downside, the machine is kinda heavy — approximately weighs 247 pounds.

Buyers Guide
14-inch bandsaws are mostly used by professionals and experienced DIYers. But, they can also be used by beginners.
If you are a beginner then choosing one can be hard, especially if you never worked with one before. To help you make a better choice, we decided to make a list of things that you should check before buying a 14″ bandsaw.

Usage
Are you using the bandsaw to cut wood, resaw, cut metal, or anything else? The first thing that you need to know is the usage.
If you know the type of project you will be working on, then choosing one becomes easier. You just have to find the features that will help you with that type of project.

Frame
The frame is what makes the bandsaw durability. Depending on your tasks you can choose one or the other. Some 14″ bandsaws come with a plastic frame, I don’t recommend going for these unless you have to do small and DIY projects.
I recommend buying a 14-inch bandsaw that comes with a metal or aluminum frame — these types of frames are durable and last a lot. If you are doing heavy-duty projects then a metal or aluminum frame is needed.

Throat
The distance between the vertical frame and the blade is called the throat. The throat size depends on your project size. If you have to work with large materials then having a larger throat is needed. I don’t recommend buying a bandsaw with a small throat even if you are working with small objects.
You may not be a professional woodworker today, but you can be tomorrow. So, buy a bandsaw that will fill your future needs too.
Power
When it comes to saws, the power is measured by the motor. The more HP the motor has, the more power it has. Usually, professional 14″ bandsaws come with a 1 HP motor, while small 14-inch bandsaws that are used for DIYers come with a 1/2 HP motor.
The 1/2 HP motor is enough for small and DIY projects, but it’s not good enough for large and industrial projects.

Table
Just like the frame, the table should also be made of high-quality material. Usually, 14″ bandsaws come with a table made of aluminum, cast iron, or iron. These 3 materials are known for durability.
Except for the table material, you should also check the table size. Small tables cost less, but they limit your workspace, while large tables cost more but you will have a larger space to work with.
Additional Features
While additional features won’t make or break a deal, they are still good to have. Some of these features are LED lights, quick release features, easy to change the blade, longer warranty, etc.
